Washington stuns USC

Washington was a 21-point underdog at home against USC on Saturday according to online sports book SPORTSBETTING.com. Not only did the Huskies cover the spread, but they upset the Trojans, 16-13. The public saw this one coming, with 62 percent taking the Washington with the points, but the magnitude of the actual win was still shocking.

Temple covers Penn State

Temple was getting 29.5 point going into Penn State on Saturday. The public was solidly behind the Nittany Lions, with 83 percent taking Penn State with the points. The Nittany Lions dominated Temple, but just not by enough. The final score was 31-6 for Penn State, as the Owls narrowly covered the spread and upset a lot of betters.

Seminoles batter BYU

BYU was a 7-point favorite at home in Saturday’s game with Florida State. The public bets showed that 70 percent of all bets were with the Cougars to cover. Instead, the Cougars were beaten and battered for four quarters as Florida State picked up a much-needed 54-28 win over BYU. The Cougars hopes for an unbeaten season and a national title appearance were dashed in the loss.

Ducks get a big win

Oregon picked up a crucial win on Saturday, beating Utah 31-24 to end the Utes’ 16-game winning streak. The Ducks were a 4-point favorite to beat the Utes and 70 percent of public bets went with Utah to cover the spread. After a loss in the season opener at Boise State, Oregon was in need of a win over a ranked opponent, which it got on Saturday.
