Rice at OSU

The offense hasn’t been quite what No. 16 Oklahoma State was hoping for this season, and after a tough loss, the Cowboys hope to bounce back on Saturday at 7PM ET when it hosts Rice from Boone Pickens Stadium.

The Cowboys picked up a big 24-10 win over Georgia in the season opener, but lost 45-35 against Houston last weekend. The Cowboys’ offense was limited to 434 yards in the loss after averaging nearly 500 last season. Oklahoma State turned the ball over four times and allowed two sacks. Zac Robinson threw for 240 yards on 18-of-31 passing with a touchdown and an interception. Dez Bryant caught five passes for 85 yards and had an 82-yard punt return for a touchdown in the game. The Cowboys are hosting their third-straight game to open the season and were 6-1 at home last season.

The Owls are playing their third-straight road game to open the season, and have lost their first two games. Last week, Rice lost to Texas Tech 55-10. The Owls allowed the prolific Red Raiders’ offense to rack up 560 yards while Rice managed just 257 yards. The Owls used three different quarterbacks in the game, with John Thomas Shepherd doing the best, throwing for 109 yards and a touchdown on 14-of-19 passing. Offensively, the Owls allowed six sacks and turned the ball over two times.

Oddsmakers from online sports book BetOnline have made Oklahoma State 32.5-point home favorites over Rice on Saturday night. The over/under total for this game has been established at 66.
