Cincinnati. The Bearcats outgained the Redhawks 578-176 in the win. Tony Pike threw for 229 yards on 17-of-23 passing with three touchdowns in the game, hitting Mardy Gilyard for six passes for 111 yards. On defense, the Bearcats forced four turnovers and held the Redhawks to seven first downs.
OregonState comes into Saturday’s game 2-0 like
Cincinnati, but narrowly defeated UNLV 23-21 last weekend. Justin Kahut kicked a 33-yard field goal late in the game to lift the Beavers to the win. Jacquizz Rodgers led the way for
OregonState, rushing for 166 yards and a touchdown. Rodgers also caught 10 passes for 65 yards. Quarterback Sean Canfield threw for 198 yards on 25-of-31 passing with two touchdowns. The
OregonState defense didn’t accomplish much in the win, as it forced just one turnover and had one sack, but did hold the Rebels to 310 yards of offense.
