Cardinals picking up steam
Louisville has won two straight since losing to Notre Dame in the season opener. They have earned wins over Eastern Kentucky and Western Kentucky. The Cardinals are 2-1 on the year, 3-0 against the spread and 2-1 with the under.
The Cardinals have been explosive on offense at times, averaging 32.3 points and 446.7 yards per game. Defensively, Louisville is giving up just 18.7 points and 294.3 yards per contest. Jawon Pass has looked good at QB, throwing for 330 yards and four touchdowns while rushing for 104 yards and two scores. However, he is dealing with foot injury that kept him out of last week’s game and has him questionable to play on Saturday. Malik Cunningham will start if Pass can’t play. He has thrown for 143 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 119 yards. Javian Hawkins is the leading rusher on the team with 338 yards and a score. Tutu Atwell is the leading receiver with 11 catches for 241 yards and four scores.
Florida State falls again
Florida State suffered a 31-24 loss at Virginia last weekend to drop to 1-2 on the season. Their lone win came against Louisiana-Monroe at home in OT, 45-44. FSU is 0-2-1 against the spread and 3-0 with the over.
The Seminoles are putting up 33.3 points and 418.7 yards per game on offense this season while allowing 37 points and 485 yards per game on defense. James Blackman is leading the team with 843 yards and nine touchdowns passing. Cam Akers has been a force in the backfield, rushing for 387 yards and three touchdowns. Tamorrion Terry is the leading receiver with 14 catches for 234 yards and a touchdown.
College Football Betting Trends
Louisville
The Cardinals are just 1-6 against the spread in their last seven road games and 0-6 ATS in their last six ACC contests.
Florida State
Florida State is 3-11-3 ATS in their last 17 conference games and 1-5-1 ATS in their last seven against a winning team.
Prediction:
Louisville has covered in the last three meetings with Florida State and the Seminoles haven’t looked like a polished team thus far in 2019. FSU has had all three of its games decided by seven points or less, with the lone win coming by just one point. It appears the Seminoles are a team that will play to the level of their competition this season. Not having Pass would certainly hurt Louisville, but with Pass, the Cardinals look like a competitive team on the national level. Without him, it could be a tough, go, but I can’t trust Florida State to win by seven points against much of anyone right now, especially a conference opponent.
College Football Week 4 Prediction: Louisville +6.5
