SOUTH BEND, IN (The Spread) – No. 22 Notre Dame takes on its third-straight Big Ten opponent on Saturday, as the Fighting Irish host Michigan State at 3:30PM ET on NBC.

Michigan State is off to a 3-0 start but is just 1-2 against the spread and playing in its road opener. Notre Dame is 2-1 on the year, 1-0 at home and 0-3 against the spread. Notre Dame has won two straight against Michigan State.

According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Notre Dame is the favorite at home, as the Fighting Irish have odds of -7 points against Michigan State. The over/under total has been set at 41.5 points. The over/under total opened at 42.5 points and has since fallen back to 41.5.

Notre Dame is coming off a 31-24 win over Purdue on the road last Saturday. The Fighting Irish have gotten off to a nice start offensive, averaging 29.7 points and 451 yards per game. However, the defense has allowed 54 points over the last two weeks and giving up nearly 400 yards per game for the season. Quarterback Tommy Rees has played well for the Irish, as he has thrown for 969 yards and seven touchdowns. Receivers DaVaris Daniels and TJ Jones have had big years as well, combining for 36 receptions for 588 yards and five touchdowns.

Michigan State is 3-0 on the season, but the Spartans have been struggling on offense. MSU did post 55 points against Youngstown State last week, but had scored just two offensive touchdowns in the previous two weeks. Despite that, MSU is 3-0 thanks to a defense that is allowing just 12 points and 177 yards per game. The defense has also scored four touchdowns this season. Offensively, MSU has settled in on Connor Cook as the starting quarterback. He has thrown for 276 yards and four touchdowns in limited action. Running back Jeremy Langford is leading the team on the ground with 200 yards and four touchdowns.

In terms of Injuries, Michigan State defensive lineman Lawrence Jackson is questionable with an undisclosed injury. Notre Dame quarterback Malik Zaire is questionable due to a throat injury.
