2013 GEICO 400 Predictions
JOLIET, IL (ATS Consultants) - The 2013 NASCAR Chase for the Championship kicks off today with the GEICO 400 from Chicagoland Speedway. Who will take home the checkered flag?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Jimmie Johnson and Matt Kenseth are co-favorites to win the GEICO 400 at 6/1, while Kasey Kahne and Kyle Busch are 7/1, respectively. Brad Keselowski is also 15/2, while Joey Logano is 9/1 after winning the pole on Friday night.
Continuing with the current odds for the GEICO 400, Carl Edwards is 10/1, while Jeff Gordon, Kevin Harvick, Kurt Busch and Dale Earnhardt Jr. are all 15/1, respectively. Clint Bowyer, Greg Biffle and Martin Truex Jr. are all 18/1, respectively.
2013 GEICO 400 Predictions:
Kahne is tied for eighth in the standings, 15 points out of first. He has two wins and eight top 5s this year but is winless at this track with an average finish of 19.0. His driver rating at Chicagoland is just 81.0 but he qualified fourth for this race and has finished in the top 10 in four of his last six races.
Busch is tied for second in the point standings, just three points out of first. He has four wins and 11 top 5s on the year and owns one win at this track with an average finish of 13.4. He also has a driver rating of 99.4, which ranks fifth in the series. Busch qualified for 12th and should run near the top throughout the day.
Live Long Shot:
Menard has been quietly good over the past couple of weeks, running in the top 10 in three of his last four races. He finished fourth in the Pure Michigan 400, sixth in the Irwin Tools Night Race at Bristol, and fifth last week at Richmond. For 100/1 odds, he's worth a look.
