Bulldogs looking strong
Georgia is coming off a 63-17 win at home over Murray State last weekend. The Bulldogs opened the year with a 30-6 win at Vandy. Despite the lopsided win over the Racers, Georgia failed to cover a 49.5-point spread, so it is 1-1 ATS on the year. Georgia is also 1-1 with the over/under total.
The Bulldogs are looking stacked on both sides of the ball once again. The offense is averaging 46.5 points and 520 yards per game while the defense is holding opponents to 11.5 points and 254.5 yards per contest. Jake Fromm has thrown or 322 yards and two touchdowns in limited play while D’Andre Swift has rushed for 214 yards and two scores on just 22 carries.
Arkansas State bounces back
After suffered a 37-30 loss at home to SMU in the season opener, Arkansas State bounced back last weekend with a 43-17 win at UNLV. The Red Wolves are also 1-1 against the spread while going 1-1 with the over/under as well.
Arkansas State is having some success on offense this year, averaging 36.5 points and 456 yards per game thus far. The defense is allowing 27 points and 404 yards per game through two contests. Quarterback Logan Bonner has been solid, throwing for 608 yards and six touchdowns with one interception. Receiver Omar Bayless has 16 catches for 281 yards and five scores while Marcel Murray is leading the ground attack with 136 yards on 27 carries. William Bradley-King has led the defense thus far with seven tackles and 2.5 sacks.
College Football Betting Trends
Georgia
Georgia is 13-5 against the spread in their last 18 games on grass and 11-5 ATS in their last 16 games following a win.
Arkansas State
The Red Wolves are 2-7 against the spread in their last nine non-conference games and 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games in September.
Prediction:
Georgia is going to roll in this game and I think it should get pretty ugly, pretty quick. The Bulldogs won by nearly 30 on the road against Vanderbilt, so it should be much bigger at home against Arkansas State. The Red Wolves don’t have the ability to stop this Georgia offense and they won’t be able to do much to keep pace in scoring. Georgia is going to make a statement at home today.
