Vanderbilt vs. South Carolina Odds

COLUMBIA, SC (The Spread) – No. 13 South Carolina looks to rebound for last week’s loss when it hosts Vanderbilt at 7PM ET on ESPN.

Vanderbilt is 1-1 on the season, 0-2 against the spread and playing in its first road game. South Carolina is 1-1 on the season, 1-0 at home and 1-1 against the spread. South Carolina has won four straight meetings with Vanderbilt.

Despite starting with a win over UNC, South Carolina followed that up with a 41-30 loss at Georgia last week. The Gamecocks were torched by the Georgia offense, giving up 538 total yards to the Bulldogs. South Carolina’s offense moved the ball, racking up 454 yards against Georgia, but had five penalties and committed a costly turnover. Running back Mike Davis rushed for 149 yards and a touchdown while quarterback Connor Shaw rushed for 75 yards and threw for 228 yards and two scores.

Vanderbilt is coming off a 38-3 win over Austin Peay a week after losing 39-35 to Ole Miss at home. The Commodores are averaging 434 yards per game thus far while the defense is holding opponents to 21 points per game. Quarterback Austyn Carta-Samuels has thrown for 523 yards and three touchdowns this season while receiver Jordan Matthews has caught 16 passes for 289 yards and two touchdowns.
