Utah-San Jose State

No. 17 Utah looks to win its 16th-straight as a program when the Utes hit the road to face San Jose State at 10:30PM ET from Spartan Stadium on Saturday.

The Utes are coming off a 35-17 win over Utah State last weekend, where Utah showed no signs of a letdown season, racking up 519 yards of offense while limited Utah State to 342 yards on defense. Terrance Cain threw for 286 yards and two touchdowns in his first start while Matt Asiata rushed for 156 yards and two scores. David Reed caught 10 passes for 172 yards as well in the victory.  Defensively, Utah wasn’t great but wasn’t awful, forcing one turnover and holding Utah State to 13 first downs.

San Jose State was beaten 56-3 by USC in its season opener. The Spartans never got started, acquiring just 121 yards of offense while allowing 620 to the Trojans. San Jose State turned the ball over two times and allowed five sacks while rushing for just nine yards as a team. Kevin Jurovich was the lone bright spot, as he caught five passes for 64 yards.

Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL have made Utah 13.5-point road favorites over San Jose State on Saturday night. The over/under total for this game has been established at 47.
