The Cougars defeated Oklahoma 14-13 in the season opener thanks to a strong defensive performance that held the Sooners to 265 yards of offense. BYU on the other hand, had no issues passing the ball, as the Cougars threw for 329 yards. Max Hall was 26-of-38 passing with two touchdowns in the win, finding McKay Jacobson for a 7-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to give BYU the lead. Saturday’s matchup with Tulane is sandwiched in between Oklahoma and next week’s game with Florida State for the Cougars.

Tulane is coming off a 37-13 loss to Tulsa. The Golden Hurricane had 412 yards of offense while Tulane had 364 yards of offense, but had two turnovers that gave Tulsa the advantage. Joe Kemp threw for 278 yards on 16-of-26 passing with one touchdown. The lone score went to receiver Casey Robottom, who caught six passes for 82 yards. The Green Wave offense is looking to build on the 2008 season offensively, where it averaged just 16.7 points per-game. Blocking was the biggest issue in the opening loss, as Kemp was sacked three times and pressured throughout the game.

Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL have made BYU 17.5-point road favorites over Tulane on Saturday afternoon. The over/under total for this game has been established at 54.
