Buckeyes look solid against Cincy
After somewhat of a shaky outing against FAU in the opener, Ohio State looked much more dominant this past weekend in a 42-0 win over Cincinnati at home. The Buckeyes are 1-1 against the spread and 1-0-1 with the under through the two games.
Ohio State has looked great through two games with new coach Ryan Day, as the Buckeyes are putting up 43.5 points and 488.5 yards per game on offense while allowing just 10.5 points and 250.5 yards per game on defense. Quarterback Justin Fields has thrown for 458 yards and six touchdowns through two games while also rushing for 103 yards and three scores. J.K. Dobbins is adding 232 rushing yards and three scores. The defense is being led by Chase Young, who has eight tackles and three sacks.
Indiana off to 2-0 start
The Hoosiers have gotten off to a 2-0 start this season thanks to a 34-24 win against Ball State and a 52-0 win over Eastern Illinois. IU is 1-1 against the spread while hitting the under in both games.
Indiana has been having a lot of success on offense, as the Hoosiers are putting up 43 points and 514.5 yards per game. The IU defense is giving up only 12 points and 257 yards per game. Michael Penix Jr. has thrown for 523 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for 79 yards to lead the Indiana offense. Whop Philyor is the leading receiver with 10 catches for 141 yards while Stevie Scott II is the leading rusher with 109 yards and three touchdowns.
College Football Betting Trends
Ohio State
The Buckeyes have covered the spread in five straight against winning teams and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games in September.
Indiana
Indiana is 5-13-1 ATS in their last 19 Big Ten games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games in September.
Prediction:
Indiana has actually given Ohio State a bit of a hard time. The Hoosiers have covered in seven of the last meetings with the Buckeyes. However, those spreads were all over 20 points. This line is much smaller. Ohio State has won its last three against IU by 21 or more. The Buckeyes showed against the Bearcats that they are still very explosive on both sides of the ball. While going on the road for the first time presents challenges, Indiana doesn’t really have a home crowd that opponents fear. IU’s offense should come back down to reality as I expect the Hoosiers to be completely overwhelmed by the Buckeyes.
