The Eagles failed to cover the spread in the loss and hit the under. Nebraska has won three of its last four against Southern Miss.

Southern Miss seemed like it had a win going its way, as it out-gained Texas State 400-215 last weekend, but the Golden Eagles committed six turnovers, including four fumbles lost in the game. Allan Bridgford ended up throwing for 377 yards on 28 of 53 passing, but the quarterback had two interceptions to just one touchdown. The issue for the offense was the running game, which totaled just 23 yards.
