Quarterback Trevor Knight showed he can run and throw, as he rushed for 103 yards on 13 carries while throwing for 86 yards and three touchdowns on just 11 of 28 passing.

West Virginia struggled in its win over William & Mary, allowing 309 total yards while picking up 409 total yards itself. The Mountaineers were led in the victory by quarterback Paul Millard, as he threw for 237 yards and one touchdown on 19 of 25 passing. Running back Charles Sims also had a solid game, rushing for 120 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries.
