Bet Northern Colorado at Kansas

Kansas is in its eighth season with coach Mark Mangino and the Jayhawks are two years removed from a 12-1 season. This season, Kansas expects to return to double-digit wins with senior quarterback Todd Reesing. Reesing threw for 3,888 yards last season with 32 touchdowns after breaking out in the 2007 season for Kansas. Reesing has his four leading receivers back this season, led by the duo of Dezmon Briscoe and Kerry Meier. The two combined for 189 receptions, over 2,400 yards, and 23 touchdowns in 2008. Also returning is running back Jake Sharp, who had 12 rushing touchdowns and 860 yards in 2008. Defensively, Kansas needs to improve after allowing 28.8 points per-game last season. The Jayhawks have eight starters returning, led by safety Darrell Stuckey, who had 98 tackles and five interceptions in 2008.

Northern Colorado went 1-10 in 2008 as part of the Big Sky in the Football Championship Subdivision. The Bears bring back 13 starters, led by quarterback Bryan Waggener. Coach Scott Downing enters his fourth year with Northern Colorado, carrying a 3-31 career record.

Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL have not released a point-spread for Saturday’s game.
