Washington vs. Hawaii Free Pick
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, Washington is a 17.5-point favorite over Hawaii for tonight’s game, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 55 points. The Huskies opened as 21.5-point favorites but the spread has been bet down to 17.5, while the total opened at 60 and is now down to 55.
Jeff Lindquist beat out Cyle rMiles during the preseason and will be Washington’s new starting quarterback for 2014. Also making his debut for the Huskies will be new head coach Chris Petersen, who takes over for the departed Steve Sarkisian, who left the program to be the new coach at USC. Washington will also be tasked with the challenge of replacing leading back Bishop Sankey, who was drafted to the NFL back in May.
Hawaii, meanwhile, is coming off a disastrous 2013 campaign that saw the Warriors win just once, with the team’s lone victory came against Army in the season finale. A lot of the issues stem from the offensive line, which went through seven different starting combinations last year and could have problems again this season. Another issue that plagued Norm Chow’s team a year ago was closing out games, as the Warriors dropped five decisions by seven points or fewer, including two in overtime.
COLLEGE FOOTBALL FREE PICK: Take the over. According to latest college football trends, the over is 4-0 in the Huskies' last four road games and 8-1 in the Rainbow Warriors' last nine games overall. The over is also 7-1 in Hawaii's last eight games on fieldturf and 4-1 in its last five home games overall.
