UCLA vs. Virginia Free pick
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, UCLA is currently a 20-point favorite over Virginia, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 54.5 points. The Bruins opened as a 24-point favorite but their odds have been bet down, while the total opened at 59 and has been bet down to 55 or 54.5.
The Bruins have been one of the media’s preseason darlings this year thanks in large part to the return of Brett Hundley, who threw for 3,071 yards and 24 touchdowns last season while adding 748 yards and 11 more touchdowns on the ground. Myles Jack also returns after rushing for 267 yards and also registering 75 tackles and two interceptions as a linebacker, while the secondary boasts the likes of Fabian Moreau, Ishmael Adams and safeties Randall Goforth and Anthony Jefferson.
As for the Cavaliers, they’ll be led by quarterback Greyson Lambert and running backs Kevin Parks and Taquan Mizzell on offense, while boasting a defensive front seven that includes defensive end Eli Harold, defensive tackle Chris Brathwaite and linebacker Henry Coley. The secondary is also a strength thanks to cornerback Maurice Canady and safety Anthony Harris. The biggest question mark is along the offensive line, which could take a while to gel.
COLLEGE FOOTBALL FREE PICK: Take Virginia. Be weary of the media favorite in Week 1. The Bruins should have a fantastic year and will be in the hunt for one of the final four playoff spots in college football this season, but giving up 20 points on the road in their season opener is too much. Their line has been inflated in our eyes. According to latest college football trends, the Cavaliers are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games in August.
