(TheSpread) – The Florida State Seminoles weren’t far from a national title in 2012. Can the Seminoles find a way to get over the hill this year?

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Florida State has been given 20/1 odds to win the 2014 BCS National Championship. The Seminoles have also been given odds of +225 to win the ACC Championship and a money line of -120 to win the ACC Atlantic Division. When it comes to wins, Florida State has been given over/under odds of 10.5.

Jimbo Fisher is in his fourth season with Florida State and coming off a 12-2 record a year ago. He is now 31-10 in three seasons with the Seminoles. This year’s team returns just 12 starters.

On offense, Florida State returns seven starters from a group that averaged 39.3 points and 472 yards per game in 2012. This year’s team has four starters back on the offensive line and five of its top six receivers from a year ago, but the Seminoles will have to replace its leading rusher and quarterback E.J. Manuel, who threw for 3,392 yards and 23 touchdowns a year ago. FSU will turn to redshirt freshman Jameis Winston to take over the offense. He is a dual-threat quarterback that could help lead the offense to big numbers once again.

Defensively, Florida State has just four starters back from a group that allowed only 14.7 points and 254 yards per game. The team does return leading tackler Christian Jones, who had 95 tackles and seven tackles for loss from the linebacker position. The team also returns three of its four starters in the secondary. That should help the Seminoles remain strong on pass defense, as they allowed just 162 yards per game through the air in 2012.

When it comes to wins, Florida State seems primed for 11. The Seminoles open at Pittsburgh and will travel to Florida to end the year, but the ACC schedule only features a tough road trip to Clemson. FSU will get to host the likes of Miami, N.C. State and Syracuse.
