Oregon State Season Odds
(TheSpread) – The Oregon State Beavers should have an explosive offense yet again this season, but will it be enough to win a Pac-12 or even the BCS National Title?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Oregon State has been given 100/1 odds to win the 2014 BCS National Championship. The Beavers have also been given odds of +900 to win the Pac-12 Championship and odds of +500 to win the Pac-12 North Division.
Mike Riley is in his 13th season at Oregon State and the Beavers are coming off a 9-4 season in 2012, but lost three of their last five games. This season’s team returns a total of 17 starters from that 2012 team.
Offensively, the Beavers have eight starters back, led quarterbacks Cody Vaz and Sean Mannion. Both are back after playing significant time in 2012 due to injuries. The two combined for nearly 4,000 passing yards and 26 touchdowns last season. Also back is running back Storm Woods, who rushed for 940 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2012. Oregon State also returns four of its five offensive linemen from last year.
Defensively, Oregon State brings back seven starters from a solid defense that allowed just 20.6 points and 354 yards per game. The Beavers return their top five tacklers from 2012. The defensive unit will be led by junior end Scott Crichton, who had nine sacks in 2012.
