ACC Coastal Division Odds


LAS VEGAS, NV (TheSpread) – The ACC Coastal Division has a wide-open field competing for the title. Which team will find its way to the ACC Championship Game?

According to oddsmakers at, North Carolina is the favorite this season, as it has 8/5 odds. Other short odds to win the Coastal Division are Miami (3/1), Virginia Tech (3/1) and Duke (7/1).

North Carolina has never captured the division title. The Tar Heels were 7-6 overall and 4-4 in the ACC last year under Larry Fedora. UNC has 14 starters back this season, led by defender Norkeithus Otis, who had 7.5 sacks in 2013.

Miami is looking to win its first ACC divisional title this season. The Hurricanes were 9-4 last season and 5-3 in the ACC. Miami has 12 starters back this upcoming season, led by running back Duke Johnson, who went for 920 yards on the ground in 2013.

Virginia Tech has won the division five times, last doing so in 2011. The Hokies were 8-5 last season and 5-3 in the ACC in 2013. Tech has 13 starters back this year, but will be replacing many key players on offense. Cornerback Kendall Fuller, who had six interceptions in 2013, will lead the defense.

Duke is the defending division champion in a surprise season run. It was the Blue Devils’ first-ever division title. The Blue Devils went 10-4 last season and 6-2 in the ACC. Duke has 15 starters back this season, led by receiver Jamison Crowder, who had 108 receptions for 1,360 yards and eight scores.
