Washington 2013 Season Odds
(TheSpread) – After three straight 7-6 seasons, can Washington find its way to a championship in the 2013 College Football Season?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Washington has been given 150/1 odds to win the 2014 BCS National Championship. The Huskies have also been given odds of +1200 to win the Pac-12 Conference and +600 odds to win the Pac-12 North.
Steve Sarkisian enters his fifth season with Washington, having just gotten over the .500 mark in each of his last three seasons. The Huskies seemed primed for a breakout year this season, with the potential to win their first conference title since 2000.
Washington returns 20 total starters on the team, including 10 on offense. Washington was up and down with the football in 2012, but quarterback Keith Price threw for 2,726 yards and running back Bishop Sankey rushed for 1,439 yards. Both are back to lead the offense and they will have the protection of an offensive line that brings back four starters, including both tackles.
Defensively, Washington was solid for a Pac-12 team. The Huskies held opponents to 24.2 points and 357 yards per game, which put them fourth in the conference. This year’s team returns eight of its top nine tacklers from 2012, and has six of its front seven back in the starting lineup. Linebacker Shaq Thompson and defensive end Josh Shirley each had 6.5 sacks to lead the team in 2012, and our back to lead the defense this year.
