Arizona State Season Odds
TEMPE, AZ (TheSpread) – Following a pair of 10-win seasons, is Arizona State ready to make a real run at the national championship in 2015?
According to oddsmakers at GTBets, Arizona State is currently listed with 66/1 odds to win the College Football Playoffs this upcoming season. The Sun Devils are getting odds of +700 to win the Pac-12 Championship this year, while the over/under total for wins has been set 8.5.
The Sun Devils enter their fourth season under coach Todd Graham. He has had a pretty solid 3-year run with the program, going 28-12 overall and 19-8 in the Pac-12. ASU has won 10 games the last two years, including a Pac-12 South title in 2013. Last year the Sun Devils went 10-3 overall and 6-3 in the Pac-12, finishing second in the South Division.
In 2014, ASU had a pretty strong offense. The Sun Devils averaged 36.9 points per game, which ranked 17th in the country. The defense wasn’t quite so tough, allowing 27.9 points per contest, which put them 76th in the nation. Injuries forced the team into using two different quarterbacks, but Mike Bercovici now returns with some experience under center. He threw for 1,445 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2014. He will have the benefit of having running back D.J. Foster returning. Foster rushed for 1,081 yards and nine scores while catching 62 passes for 688 yards and three scores in 2014. The team has to replace stud receiver Jaelen Strong, but the offense should still move along just fine.
Arizona State starts the season by taking on Texas A&M, which is a big opener to set the tone for the season. The Sun Devils also face Cal Poly and New Mexico in non-conference play. When it comes to the Pac-12, ASU hosts USC, Colorado, Oregon, Washington and Arizona while hitting the road to face UCLA, Utah, Washington State and Cal. The Sun Devils have their toughest games at home. If it can win at UCLA, ASU has a real shot in the Pac-12 this season.
