Conference USA West Odds
(TheSpread) – The Conference USA West Division has been long controlled by one team. Will that team stand tall again in 2013?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Tulsa is the favorite to claim another division title, as the Golden Hurricanes have odds of +135 to win. Other short odds to win are Rice (+300), Louisiana Tech (+400) and UTEP (+460).
Tulsa has won the division title four times in eight seasons, including the 2012 season. Tulsa is coming off an 11-3 season in 2012, and the Golden Hurricanes have 12 starters back. The team will be led by quarterback Cody Green.
Rice has never won the division title. The Owls are coming off a 7-6 season in 2012, and the team returns 20 starters. This year’s team will be led by cornerback Phillip Gaines.
Louisiana Tech has never won the division title. The Bulldogs were 9-3 in the 2012 season and have a new coach in Skip Holtz. This year’s team returns just seven starters, but does have running back Kenneth Dixon back. Dixon rushed for 1,194 yards and 27 touchdowns in 2012.
UTEP has never won the division title. The Miners have a new coach this season in Sean Kugler. He takes over a team that went 3-9 in 2012, but returns 12 starters. The team will be led by receiver Jordan Leslie.
