Can Michigan actually make a run at their first Big Ten Championship in some time, or will Ohio State get back on top this season?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, both Michigan and Ohio State are co-favorites to win the conference title this season, as each is listed with +160 odds. Other short odds to win are Nebraska (+600) and Michigan State (+800).

Michigan has yet to appear in the Big Ten Championship Game. The Wolverines last conference title came in 2004. The Wolverines are coming off a 10-3 2015 season in Jim Harbaugh’s debut as coach. However, they lost to both Big Ten rivals in Ohio State and Michigan State. The Wolverines have a relatively light schedule, but do make road trips to both MSU and Ohio State late in the season.
Ohio State has appeared in the conference title game twice, winning in 2014. The Buckeyes were 12-1 last season, finishing 7-1 in conference play. Ohio State will face Oklahoma in non-conference play this year, but make road trips to Wisconsin, Penn State and MSU in Big Ten play while getting to host Nebraska and Michigan.

Nebraska appeared in the Big Ten Championship Game one time, losing badly in 2012. The Cornhuskers were just 6-7 last season and 3-5 in the Big Ten. It was Mike Riley’s first season as head coach. This year, Nebraska meets Oregon in non-conference play. The Huskers have tough conference road games, going to Wisconsin, Ohio State and Iowa.
Michigan State is a two-time winner of the Big Ten Championship Game and the defending champion. The Spartans were 12-2 for the 2015 season while going 7-1 in the Big Ten. The Spartans will be working in a new QB this year and face tough non-conference games against Notre Dame and BYU. The Spartans will host the likes of Wisconsin, Michigan and Ohio State in conference action, while its toughest road game will be at Penn State to end the season.
