Jacoby Brissett Heisman Odds
RALEIGH, NC (TheSpread) – With one full year as a starter under his belt, will 2015 see North Carolina State quarterback Jacoby Brissett make a run at the Heisman Trophy?
According to oddsmakers at GTBets, Brissett is listed with 100/1 odds to win the 2015 Heisman Trophy. Trevone Boykin of TCU is the current favorite with 6/1 odds while Ohio State’s Ezekiel Elliott has 7/1 odds. Jeremy Johnson of Auburn and Nick Chubb of Georgia each have 10/1 odds.
Brissett is entering his senior season with N.C. State, but he spent his first two years with Florida, not seeing much action. He then transferred to N.C. State and sat out the 2013 season. In 2014, Brissett was given the keys to the car and he ended up throwing for 2,606 yards with 23 touchdowns and just five interceptions. He also rushed for 529 yards and three touchdowns.
Brissett provided a nice boost for N.C. State a year ago, as the team went just 3-9 in the first year of Dave Doeren as the head coach. Brissett led the team to an 8-5 record, including a win in the St. Petersburg Bowl. Brissett had seven games where he threw for over 200 yards and then had one game where he rushed for 167 yards. His ability to limit the turnovers makes him a strong player, but he is clearly a long shot to reach the Heisman level this season.
