Taysom Hill Heisman Odds
PROVO, UT (TheSpread) – Coming off a season-ending injury in 2014, will Taysom Hill be able to bounce back and put his name in the Heisman Trophy hat this year?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Hill is listed with 50/1 odds to win the 2015 Heisman Trophy. Trevone Boykin of TCU is the current favorite with 6/1 odds while Ohio State’s Ezekiel Elliott has 7/1 odds. Jeremy Johnson of Auburn and Nick Chubb of Georgia each have 10/1 odds.
The BYU quarterback is entering his senior season with the Cougars after missing the last eight games of the 2014 season with a fractured leg. Prior to the injury, Hill had thrown for 975 yards and seven touchdowns while rushing for 334 yards and four scores. It was his sophomore campaign that put his name on the map, as he threw for 2,938 yards and 19 touchdowns while rushing for 1,344 yards and 10 scores.
Hill has really shown the ability to beat you with his arm or his feet. He had 308 yards passing to open the 2014 season against Connecticut, but also had 160 rushing yards in a win over Houston. He rushed for at least 90 yards in three of five games during the 2014 season and threw for 200 yards or more in two of the five contests. If he isn’t afraid of the fractured leg injury from a year ago, Hill should definitely be one of the most dynamic players in 2015.
