American Athletic Conference Odds
(TheSpread) – The new conference in college football is the American Athletic Conference. Here is a look at the odds to win this inaugural conference title.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Louisville is the clear favorite to win, as the Cardinals have odds of -160 to win. Other short odds to win are Cincinnati (+475), Rutgers (+525) and Central Florida (+1000).
Louisville was the 2012 Big East champion, going 11-2 in the 2012 season. The Cardinals will have 18 starters back this season, led by quarterback Teddy Bridgewater.
Cincinnati went 10-3 last season, earning a share of the Big East title, but the Bearcats lost head coach Butch Jones to Tennessee. Cincinnati has 14 starters back from the 2012 team.
Rutgers went 9-4 last season and also won a share of the Big East title. The Scarlet Knights return 11 starters from last year’s team, which went 9-4 overall, losing its final three games of the season.
Central Florida is making the jump to this league from Conference USA. The Knights were 10-4 last season and return 13 starters to this year’s squad.
