The university’s athletic department said in a statement Thursday night that it was “aware of an incident involving student-athletes which occurred off campus over the weekend.”
The athletic department said it was working with the university’s Dean of Students to gather details.
A message was left with Lincoln police.
Suttles, from Tampa, Fla., signed with the Huskers in February and was set to join the program this fall. Pelini had said in February that Suttles had a chance to be an immediate contributor as a freshman. Brown, from Gardena, Calif., was to be a redshirt freshman this season.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Nebraska is 50/1 to win the 2014 BCS National Championship. Alabama remains favored at 3/1, while Ohio State and Texas A&M are both 13/2, respectively. Oregon, meanwhile, is 7/1 while Georgia is 14/1 and Stanford is 16/1.
