Coach Brady Hoke said Saturday that Stonum had made a “poor decision” and was being disciplined, but he didn’t elaborate.
Diane Brown of the University of Michigan police says Stonum was arrested around 2:25 a.m. on Friday on suspicion of operating while under the influence. It was not immediately clear if he had a lawyer.
Stonum started 12 games as a junior last season for coach Rich Rodriguez and ranked second on the team in receptions and yards receiving. He has 76 career receptions for 1,008 yards and six touchdowns.
