2014 NFL Draft QB Prop Odds
LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) – Will Johnny Manziel be drafted ahead of Blake Bortles in the 2014 NFL Draft? Let’s take a look at the odds.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the odds that Manziel is taken ahead of Bortles is 2/3 in favor of “Johnny Football.” That means for every $3.00 that you wager on Manziel to be taken ahead of Bortles, you’ll get $2.00 in return. If you bet on Bortles to be drafted ahead of Manziel, then you’ll get $11.00 for every $10.00 that you wager because the Central Florida product is a small underdog in this prop bet.
How many quarterbacks will be drafted in the first round? After just one quarterback was taken in the first round last year (E.J. Manuel, who went 16th overall to the Bills), the over/under has been set at 3 this year. Manziel, Bortles and Teddy Bridgewater are the most likely quarterbacks to be taken in the first round this year, although Derek Carr could also sneak into the top 32, or Bridgewater could fall into the second round after he had a poor pro day.
Speaking of Carr and Bridgewater: Which quarterback will be drafted first in this year’s NFL draft? Believe it or not, Carr is a 5/7 favorite to be taken over Bridgewater, who is a 1/2 underdog to be selected over Carr. If that question were asked a month ago there wouldn’t have been any question that Bridgewater would go ahead of Carr, but the aforementioned poor pro day at Louisville has really hurt Bridgewater’s draft stock.
The 2014 NFL Draft will be take place this weekend, with the first-round being held on Thursday night at 8:00PM ET.
