SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) – The University of Notre Dame on Monday will release its six-month investigation into the death of a student killed when the hydraulic lift he was on fell over in high winds as he filmed football practice.
Last month, the Indiana Occupational Safety and Health Administration fined Notre Dame $77,500, saying the school ignored safety standards that could have prevented the death of 20-year-old Declan Sullivan.
The South Bend school says president John Jenkins will participate in Monday’s announcement. He’s to be joined by Notre Dame executive vice president John Affleck-Graves, who led the probe.
Other participants will be athletic director Jack Swarbrick, football coach Brian Kelly and two technical experts.
Winds were gusting to 53 mph on Oct. 27, 2010, when the Long Grove, Ill., junior was killed.
