Williams is came into spring ball as one of the leading candidates to earn the starting quarterback job this fall for Miami. Williams suffered the torn ACL during a non-contact drill during Friday’s practice. He is still hoping to return during the 2014 season.
With Williams currently out of commission, Miami is looking to redshirt sophomore Kevin Olsen and sophomore Gray Crow as the potential starters. The Hurricanes will also have a pair of true freshmen coming in, but neither may be ready to take over the offense in the fall.
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Miami has been given 75/1 odds to win the 2015 FBS Championship Game. Florida State is the current favorite with 4/1 odds, while Alabama has 6/1 odds.
The Aggies will open the 2014 season on Monday, Sept. 1 when they hit the road to face Louisville at 8PM ET on ESPN.
