Tennessee hires DeBord as OC
KNOXVILLE, TN (TheSpread) – Tennessee coach Butch Jones has selected his new offensive coordinator, and it will be Mike DeBord, a former head coach.
The University announced the decision on Friday for DeBord to replace Mike Bajakian, who left UT to work with Tampa Bay in the NFL. DeBord worked with Jones back in his time as head coach at Central Michigan from 2000-03. Jones was an assistant for DeBord. DeBord is most known for his work at Michigan, where he was the offensive coordinator of the 1997 national championship team. He has also spent time in the NFL as an assistant.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Tennessee is getting 50/1 odds to win the 2016 College Football Playoffs. Ohio State is the favorite to repeat, as the Buckeyes have 5/1 odds, while TCU has 8/1 odds.

Tennessee is coming off a 7-6 season in 2014 with a 3-5 mark in the SEC. The Vols won four of their last five games, including a 45-28 win over Iowa in the TaxSlayer Bowl. Tennessee is in its second season with Butch Jones as head coach. He is 12-13 in his two seasons overall and 5-11 in the SEC.
