Auburn gets top recruit, Cowart
AUBURN, AL (TheSpread) – Auburn may not have the top recruiting class in the nation, but the Tigers landed the top recruit in all the nation on Wednesday.
During National Signing Day, Auburn got the commitment from Byron Cowart, the No. 1 ranked recruit by ESPN. Cowart is a 6-4, 258-pound defensive end out of Armwood High School in Seffner, Fla. He probably can play right away at defensive end or defensive tackle for the Tigers.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Auburn currently has 16/1 odds to win the 2016 College Football Playoffs. They join Baylor and Oklahoma with 16/1 odds. Ohio State is the current favorite with 5/1 odds while TCU has 8/1 odds.

Auburn ended up with the seventh-ranked recruiting class in the nation according to ESPN, which put them third in the SEC behind Alabama and Tennessee. Auburn is coming off an 8-5 season in 2014 with a 4-4 record in the SEC. The Tigers lost four of their last five games, including a 34-31 OT loss to Wisconsin in the Outback Bowl.
