CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) -Clemson quarterback Willy Korn will transfer to Marshall to continue his football career after he graduates.
Korn announced his intentions on Thursday. He came to the Tigers in 2007 as one of the country’s top recruits.
Clemson fans expected big things from the former Byrnes High School star. However, Korn’s time with the Tigers was marked by injuries. He hurt his arm in his lone start in 2008 against Georgia Tech.
Korn needed surgery and struggled to regain his form during spring practice last year. He was beaten out by freshman Kyle Parker for the starting job and played in six games.
Korn said in December he would leave the Tigers and play elsewhere.
NCAA rules allow Korn to play next season if he has graduated.
