BCS Championship Team Props

PASADENA, CA (The Spread) – No. 1 Florida State and No. 2 Auburn are accustomed to scoring points. Will they both continue to do so in tonight’s BCS Championship Game?

View Current College Football Odds

According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Florida State is the clear favorite in this game, as the Seminoles have odds of -10 points against Auburn tonight. The over/under total for the game has been set at 68 points (View Matchup). When it comes to the points for each team, FSU’s over/under odds have been set at 39.5 points, while Auburn’s point total has been set at 29.5.

Auburn may be a 10-point underdog in this game, but scoring has not been an issue for the Tigers this year, especially toward the end of the season. Since suffering its lone loss of the season, Auburn has posted at least 30 points in every game. Since that loss, Auburn is averaging 45.3 points per game, and that includes meetings with the likes of Alabama, Missouri and Texas A&M. While Florida State does have the top scoring defense in the country, the Seminoles haven’t faced the best offenses week-in and week-out. Their most impressive defensive showing was limiting Clemson to just 14 points on Oct. 19. The one weak point for FSU was giving up 34 points to Boston College, a team that is heavy on the run, similar to Auburn. Aside from that 34-point outburst, FSU has not allowed more than 17 points to any other team.

The Florida State offense has seemingly been unstoppable this year, posting 53 points per game, which ranks tops in the country. The Seminoles have scored at least 41 points in all games but one, in which it had 37 against Florida. Defensively, Auburn has had its struggles at times, but still allows an average of 24 points per game. The Tigers have allowed 40 points just twice this season, giving up 42 to Missouri in the SEC Championship and 41 points against Johnny Manziel and Texas A&M.
