Ohio finishes strong
After some narrow losses late in the season, Ohio bounced back with a 66-24 win over Bowling Green and a 52-3 win over Akron to close out the regular season. Ohio is 6-6 on the season, 4-8 against the spread and 7-5 with the over.
The Bobcats are putting up 34.7 points and 443.3 yards per game on offense this season behind a balanced attack. Defensively, Ohio is allowing 27 points and 401.7 yards per contest. Nathan Rourke is leading the team with 2,676 passing yards and 20 touchdowns while also rushing for 780 yards and 12 touchdowns. O’Shaan Allison is adding 823 rushing yards and six scores, while De’Montre Tuggle is adding 547 yards and 10 scores. Isiah Cox is the leading receiver with 36 catches for 590 yards and two touchdowns.
Nevada coming off OT loss
Nevada came up just short of ending the season on a four-game win streak, but lost 33-30 in OT to UNLV in its finale. The Wolf Pack are 7-5 on the season, 5-6-1 against the spread and 6-6 with the over/under total.
The Wolf Pack are struggling on offense, averaging just 21.3 points and 360 yards per game. Defensively, Nevada is giving up 32.1 points and 398.8 yards per contest. Carson Strong is leading the offense with 1,933 passing yards and 10 touchdowns to lead the offense, while Toa Taua has 759 rushing yards and six touchdowns. Elijah Cooks is the team’s top receiver with 62 catches for 729 yards and seven touchdowns.
College Football Betting Trends
Ohio
The Bobcats are 11-4 with the over in their last 15 nonconference games and 5-1 with the over in their last six games as a favorite.
Nevada
The Wolf Pack are 6-1 with the under in their last seven bowl games, but 5-2 with the over in their last seven nonconference games.
Prediction:
Ohio has put up a lot of points for most of the season, especially their wins. Nevada has struggled to move the ball, but I also feel the Wolf Pack played a tougher schedule against better defensive teams than Ohio did in the MAC. I think Nevada will see some success on offense in this game while Ohio will continue to find ways to put up points as well. I think this game could be another shootout for the Bobcats.
