Horned Frogs try to stay hot vs. Jayhawks
TCU’s not exactly known as a college hoops powerhouse. Having compiled an 11-1 mark so far this season, however, will Jamie Dixon’s team push mighty Kansas tonight?
The two Big 12 rivals tip off in Texas at 9 p.m. ET. Online sports book Bovada.lv gives the Jayhawks odds of -275 to take care of business on the road. Conversely, the Horned Frogs represent +225 underdogs.
As conference play commences, Bill Self’s program is receiving its customary share of love from scribes throughout the Midwest. Out of nowhere, though, TCU seems dead set on making noise well into March. Dixon’s bunch already boasts quality victories over UNLV and Washington to go along with an RPI of 31. Four individuals — Alex Robinson, Jaylen Fisher, Vladimir Brodziansky and Enrich Williams — currently average in double figures in scoring.
KU (11-1), meanwhile, features a true go-to guy in Frank Mason III. The senior guard’s enjoying his best stretch to date in Lawrence, putting up 19.7 points per contest and generally serving as a model for Self’s latest crop of blue-chip freshmen. Not surprisingly, Mason elevated his game even higher in recent wins against Georgia and Stanford.
