Redhawks win fourth straight
Seattle edged Portland Saturday night at home in the Elgin Baylor Classic to improve to 6-5 on the season. The Redhawks led 37-31 at halftime and held off a Pirates rally attempt after the break. Terrell Brown led Seattle with 20 points on 6-of-22 shooting plus 8-of-12 at the free throw line. He also recorded 10 rebounds and three assists. Morgan Means accounted for 18 points, five boards, three dimes and two steals. Delante Jones added 16 points, six caroms and two assists.
Huskies’ five-game win streak snapped
Washington lost 83-76 at home nine days ago against Gonzaga to drop to 7-2 overall and 6-1 at home. The Huskies trailed 41-37 at halftime and could not solve the Bulldogs after the break. Isaiah Stewart led Washington with 21 points on 6-of-7 shooting plus 9-of-10 at the charity stripe. He also ripped down 10 rebounds. Jaden McDaniels accounted for 15 points, seven boards and five assists. Nahziah Carter tallied 15 points, five caroms and two blocked shots. Quade Green added 14 points, eight dimes and two rebounds.
College Basketball Betting Trends
Seattle
The Redhawks are 1-4 ATS in their last five games as a road underdog. Seattle is 4-1 ATS in its last five road games following three or more straight home games.
Washington
The Huskies are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games following an ATS loss. Washington is 1-5-1 ATS in its last seven games following a straight up loss.
Prediction:
The Huskies are perhaps slightly better than two teams Seattle has already played on the road this season in an 89-67 defeat at Syracuse and a 65-52 loss at Mississippi. But with Washington having so much time off, there might be a rust factor here in addition to the Redhawks wanting to prove themselves against their best in-state opponent. Washington only won this matchup 70-62 at home last season and I am projecting this one to stay closer than the spread suggests as well.
