Wichita State banged up, to take on USC
When Wichita State takes on USC at 2:00PM ET today in the first round of the AdvoCare Invitational in Orlando, the Shockers are expected to be without guard Fred VanVleet.

VanVleet is likely to miss the entire Advocare Invitational with a hamstring injury. That’s a big loss for the Shockers as the senior point guard averaged 13.6 points, 5.2 assists and 4.5 rebounds last year and was one of the major reasons why Wichita State has had so much success the last three years.
“I’d be surprised if he plays,” coach Gregg Marshall told ESPN. “The last thing the doctors told me was probably the Saint Louis (December 5) game at best.”
Making matters worse for the Shockers is that Marshall also said backup point guard Landry Shamet could be out today with a stress reaction. With VanVleet and Shamet both likely to miss today’s matchup, oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI have installed Wichita State as a 2.5-point favorite over USC.
