New feature coming to NCAA
LAS VEGAS (AP) – A new men’s college basketball doubleheader will feature Colorado, Marquette, New Mexico and Oklahoma State playing in Las Vegas on Dec. 21.
The MGM Grand Showcase will be played at the hotel of the same name, with Marquette vs. New Mexico and Oklahoma State vs. Colorado. The games, to be televised on ESPNU and ESPN2, will partly benefit the Coaches vs. Cancer charity.
The hotel has a three-year deal to host games. It is already home to the Pac-12 Conference men’s tournament. The doubleheader will be played in the 16,800-seat Grand Garden arena.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Colorado is currently 50/1 to win the 2013-14 NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship, which gives them the same odds as a handful of teams, including UCONN, Creighton and Georgetown. The current favorite to win next year’s title is Kentucky at 7/2, while Kansas is 13/2 and Louisville is 10/1.
