Hoiberg heading to the NBA
AMES, IA (TheSpread) – The Iowa State Cyclones may need to find a new head coach, as it appears current coach Fred Hoiberg is headed to the NBA.

According to ESPN.com’s Jeff Goodman, Hoiberg has started informing Iowa State players and staff members that he is heading to the NBA to be the new coach of the Chicago Bulls. There are also reports that he has begun negotiations for a five-year contract with the Bulls.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Iowa State is currently listed at 20/1 to win the NCAA Tournament next season. Those odds could fall with Hoiberg officially leaving. Duke, Kentucky and Maryland are all favored to win the title next season, as each has 9/1 odds.

Hoiberg has spent the last five season coaching Iowa State. He had a 115-56 overall record and 49-39 mark in Big 12 play. He led the Cyclones to the NCAA Tournament the last four seasons, including a Sweet 16 appearance in 2014. Iowa State had 25 wins last season and 28 wins in the 2013-14 season.
