University trustees voted Thursday to raise Weber's pay by 50 percent and extend his contract by three years, through April 2015.
Weber's pay will increase immediately from $1 million to $1.25 million a year. Starting in January, Weber will be paid $1.5 million a year.
The Illini were 24-10 and finished second in the Big Ten before losing in the first round of the NCAA tournament. They weren't expected to do that well a year after finishing 16-19.
Weber has coached at Illinois for six seasons. His teams have been to the tournament five times.
