Sulaimon had been dismissed by Duke during last season, his junior year. He is on pace to graduate this summer, which will allow him to join Maryland for his senior year without sitting out a season.
“For everything I’ve been through, my family and I wanted me to be at a place where I trusted everyone,” Sulaimon said of his decision. “I’ve known Coach (Mark) Turgeon and (assistant coach Dustin) Clark since I was 13. I trust them.”
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Maryland is currently listed with 14/1 odds to win next season’s national championship. Duke, Kentucky and North Carolina are all co-favorites at 10/1 to win it all.

Sulaimon is a 6-5 guard from Houston that was a consistent contributor for the Blue Devils before getting into trouble away from the court. He averaged 11.6 points per game as a freshmen, 9.9 points as a sophomore and 7.5 points last season. He has shot over 40 percent from the field in each of his three seasons at Duke and was better than a 40 percent 3-point shooter his last two seasons.
