National Title Game Odds


NEW ORLEANS, LA (TheSpread) – The opening odds for the 2012 National Championship heavily favored one team, but now the spread is quickly dropping. Here is a look at the latest odds for tonight’s game.

Monday’s title game will take place from the Superdome in New Orleans and features Kentucky taking on Kansas at 9:23PM ET (View Matchup). According to the oddsmakers, Kentucky is a 6-point favorite against the Jayhawks The over/under point total for the game has been set at 137.5 points. When looking at money lines, Kansas has been given odds of +200 to win while Kentucky has a money line of -250.

On Saturday night, Kentucky opened in Las Vegas as an 8.5-point favorite against Kansas, but the spread has been dropping ever since. It was at 6.5 points into early Sunday and now has dropped down to 6 points. Similarly, the over/under total opened at 140.5 points and has been dropping since, now finding its way down to 137.5 points.

Kentucky is 37-2 on the season and 10-1 on a neutral floor while Kansas is 32-6 overall and 8-3 on a neutral floor. The Jayhawks are 19-17-1 against the spread on the season while Kentucky is just 15-22-1 ATS. Kansas has actually won three of the last four against Kentucky and covered the spread in four of the last five against the Wildcats. Kentucky did pick up a 75-65 win over Kansas at Madison Square Garden early in the season. Kentucky shot over 50 percent in the win and had five players score at least 12 points in the win while Kansas shot just 33.9 percent from the floor.
