Connecticut vs. Michigan St. Odds


NEW YORK (TheSpread) – Two proud basketball programs content for a spot in the Final Four when No. 4 Michigan State faces No. 7 Connecticut at 2:20PM ET in the East Regional Final.

According to oddsmakers at, Michigan State is the favorite to win, as the Spartans have odds of -5.5 points against Connecticut. The over/under total for the game has been set at 139 points (View Matchup). These two last met in 2012 with Connecticut getting a 66-62 win.

Michigan State is now 20-13-3 against the spread and the Spartans have hit the over in 19 of 36 lined games. Michigan State has won six straight following its 61-59 win over Virginia on Friday night. The win over the Cavaliers was a physical battle where both teams played with great defensive intensity. MSU held Virginia to 20 of 57 shooting in the win while going 21 of 47 on offense. Forward Branden Dawson led the Spartans, as he had 24 points with 10 rebounds while Adreian Payne had 16 points and five boards.

Connecticut is 20-15 against the spread and the Huskies have hit the under in 21 of 34 lined games. The Huskies are coming off an 81-76 win over Iowa State in Friday’s regional semifinal. UConn has scored at least 77 points in all three tournament games and the Huskies went 26 of 50 shooting from the floor in Friday’s win, including 9 of 19 from 3-point land. DeAndre Daniels had 27 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Huskies while Shabazz Napier had 19 points and five assists.
