Wichita State vs. La Salle Odds


LOS ANGELES (TheSpread) – Wichita State and La Salle look to continue their surprising run in the NCAA Tournament today when the two meet at 10:17PM ET in the Sweet 16.

This game will be played from Staples Center in Los Angeles and is part of the West Region with Wichita State as the ninth seed and La Salle as the 13th seed. (View Matchup). According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Wichita State is favored in this game, as the Shockers have odds of -4 points against La Salle, while the over/under total has been set at 135.5 points. Opening odds had Wichita State favored by 3.5 points. The spread hit a peak of 4.5 points before closing at the Shockers -4. These two last met in 2003, with Wichita State winning 74-71.

Wichita State is coming off a 76-70 win over top-seeded Gonzaga. The Shockers were able to pick up the victory by hitting 14 3-pointers. Gonzaga did have 20 offensive rebounds in the loss, but shot just 21 of 59 from the field. Wichita State had four players score in double figures as Ron Baker led the charge with 16 points, six rebounds and four assists. The Shockers are now 28-8 on the season, 7-1 on a neutral floor and 17-14-2 against the spread.

La Salle reached the Sweet 16 by beating Ole Miss, 76-74. The Explorers got the win thanks to Tyrone Garland hitting a shot in the closing seconds of the game. Garland finished with 17 points, four rebounds and three assists. Ramon Galloway added 24 points, four rebounds and three assists. As a team, La Salle shot 27 of 55 from the floor. La Salle is 24-9 on the season, 5-1 on a neutral floor and 15-12-2 against the spread.
