Memphis vs. Michigan State Odds

According to oddsmakers at, Michigan State is the favorite in this game, as the Spartans have odds of -6 points against the Tigers. The over/under total for this game has been set at 130.5 points. The spread opened with MSU as a 4.5-point favorite. The spread never got lower than that and has slowly built up to 6 points over the last 24 hours. These two last met in 2008 with Memphis getting a 92-74 victory.

Michigan State reached the third round by beating Valparaiso, 65-54. MSU dominated the Crusaders physically, pulling down 44 total rebounds, including 17 on offense. Valpo had just 20 rebounds for the game. The Spartans got a big outing from center Derrick Nix, who had 23 points and 15 rebounds, including nine offensive boards. Michigan State is now 26-8 on the season, 3-2 on a neutral floor and 13-16-2 against the spread.

Memphis reached the third round of the tournament by beating St. Mary’s, 54-52, on Thursday. The Tigers led comfortably most of the game, but had to survive a late scare, as the Gaels had a potential game-winning shot go long at the buzzer. The Tigers played solid on defense in the win, holding St. Mary’s to 19 of 58 shooting. The Tigers also had 12 blocks in the game, with eight coming from D.J. Stephens. Memphis is 31-4 on the season, 5-2 on a neutral floor and 16-16 against the spread.
