Connecticut vs. Villanova Odds
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Villanova is the favorite in this game, as the Wildcats have odds of -3.5 points against Connecticut. The over/under total for the game has been set at 132.5 points (View Matchup). Connecticut has won four of the last five against Villanova, but the Wildcats are 2-0-1 against the spread in the last three in this series.
Villanova is now 22-9 against the spread while hitting the over 18 times. Villanova opened the tournament with a 73-53 win over No. 15 Milwaukee on Thursday. Nova held Milwaukee to 18 of 63 shooting from the field and 6 of 24 shooting from 3-point land. The Wildcats pulled down a total of 46 rebounds as well and shot 28 of 62 from the floor on offense. Villanova was led in the win by Darrun Hilliard II, who had 16 points, while JayVaughn Pinkston had 13 points, eight rebounds and three blocks.
Connecticut is 18-15 against the spread and the Huskies have hit the under 21 times. The Huskies are coming off an 89-81 overtime win over No. 10 St. Jospeh’s. Connecticut had to really to force the overtime, but took over in the extra session. UConn was helped in the win by its shooting from the outside, going 11 of 24 from 3-point land. The Huskies were also strong at the line, going 18 of 20. Shabazz Napier had a very strong game, scoring 24 points with eight rebounds, six assists and three steals. DeAndre Daniels added 18 points with four rebounds.
These two will face off in the Third Round of the East Region, today at 9:40PM ET on TBS. The game will be held from the First Niagara Center in Buffalo, NY.
