Arizona State vs. Texas Odds
Both teams come in with at-large bids as Texas was 23-10 out of the Big 12 while Arizona State was 21-11 out of the Pac-12. According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Texas is the favorite in the game, as the Longhorns have odds of -2 points against ASU. The over/under total for the game has been set at 142.5 points (View Matchup). These two last met in 1999 with Texas picking up an 88-71 victory.
Texas went just 14-16 against the spread this season and split the over/under in 30 games. Texas showed flashes of being a strong team this year, but comes in losers in five of their last eight. The Longhorns average 74.1 points per game on offense while allowing 70 points per game on defense. Opposing teams shoot just 39.9 percent against Texas, and the Longhorns are fourth nationally in rebounding at 42 per game. Leading Texas is Jonathan Holmes, who averages 13 points and 7.2 rebounds per game.
Arizona State was 14-15-1 against the spread this season and hit the under in 17 of 29 lined games. Like Texas, Arizona State struggled toward the end of the season, losing five of their last seven games. The Sun Devils average 75 points per game on offense while giving up 68.9 points per game. It comes in shooting 38.6 percent from 3-point land, which ranks 34th in the country. The Sun Devils are led by Jahii Carson, who averages 18.6 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game.
