(TheSpread) – The 2012 March Madness tournament is down to the Sweet Sixteen. Here is an updated look at the odds to win this year’s tournament.
According to oddsmakers, Kentucky is still the favorite to win this year’s national championship, as they have 9/5 odds to win. Other short odds to win are Ohio State (5/1), North Carolina (6/1), and Michigan State (6/1).
Kentucky is the top overall seed and the No. 1 seed in the South Region. The Wildcats have looked impressive thus far, beating Western Kentucky 81-66 and Iowa State 87-71.
Ohio State is the No. 2 seed in the East Region. The Buckeyes beat Loyola (MD) 78-59 in the second round and then beat Gonzaga 73-66 in the third round.
North Carolina is the No. 1 seed in the Midwest Region. The Tar Heels beat Vermont 77-58 to start the tournament and then bested Creighton 87-73. In the win over Creighton, point guard Kendall Marshall fractured his wrist and his ability to play in unknown.
Michigan State is the top seed in the West. The Spartans beat LIU Brooklyn 89-67 in their opener and then held of Saint Louis 65-61 to reach the Sweet Sixteen.
